Get Stuffed is about strengthening the local food economy, creating jobs and improving community health. The Latrobe Valley has an unemployment rate of 9.6% (at July, 2016) and one of the highest rates of obesity in the country at 75%. By alleviating income inequality through job creation and skill building, we are tackling the root causes of poor health. We're also making fresh, locally produced food more abundant and accessible in the process. Want to know more?
If you'd like to be added to our mailing list and be kept in the loop, register your interest here.
Right now a network of growers, traders and kitchens are being pulled together to support Latrobe Valley's local food economy, one herb at a time. If you're growing herbs, or would be interested in buying them from the Get Stuffed Network we'd love to hear from you!
At four locations (and counting!) you can now take part in a community food sharing scheme to reduce food waste and increase access to locally grown food. All food in Get Swapped drop off boxes is free to take, and any excess produce you don't need is welcome as a donation for others to enjoy.
Get Stuffed is lucky to be supported by a growing number of organisations, food producers & retailers, institutions, and community groups from the Latrobe Valley and beyond. Be sure to show them some love and visit them online!
